Series 7 Countdown: Best Series 6

As Series 7 draws ever nearer, I am going to be publishing countdown posts. For each post I will write about my most memorable episode from that series and also a separate article for my least favourite episode of that series. (The 2009 Specials and the Christmas Special's will both have there separate articles) Today's article is on my favourite episode of Series 6.

The Wedding of River Song

This episode is extremely exciting and definitely ends a series which most people have mixed emotions about, very well. From Daleks to River Song, from Silence to the question, this episode was full of excitement and in this article I will detail some of my favourite parts of it.

NOTE: The Girl Who Waited was an extremely great episode but I feel The Wedding of River Song was a lot more important, maybe not as emotional, but definitely more exciting.

Hello Dalek

The scene where the Doctor has knocked down a Dalek and it is struggling to get back in control, is genius as it shows The Doctor is capable of taking down a Dalek by himself, the inside of the top half of the New Paradigm Daleks is revealed and the dialogue which The Doctor uses is fantastic. "... you looked up and you saw me. Hello Dalek".

Headless Monks Heads

I loved the setting of the skulls of the beheaded place because it was so eery and creepy and it just proved that the Headless Monks really are quite a scary monster! The reveal of Dorium was good but what I don't understand is, how has Dorium still got his head, where everyone else is just a skull?

The Soothsayer

I loved how The Doctor had become a Soothsayer in this episode! I wasn't a fan of the beard though...! The scenes between The Doctor and Churchill were great as you knew the Silence were about to appear but you didn't know quite how... Also I thought that Kovarian had made Amy one of her human servants as she was wearing an eye-piece when she shot the Doctor, but obviously she wasn't...

Captain Williams

Rory really showed his bravery in this episode which I really liked and my favourite part with Rory in this episode was when they had just defeated the Silence and Amy says, "We should go for a drink sometime. *Rory agrees* And married! *Rory agrees again*". I just found this hilarious!

The Wedding of Melody Pond

The Doctor knew that River needed to realise he was the Teselecta, so 'marrying' her was a nice touch, just so they could get close enough so she could look into his eye! I also loved before hand when she refused to kill The Doctor, which shows us who River really is: a nice, kind, caring and compassionate person - completely the opposite of which we saw in Let's Kill Hitler!

Doctor Who...?

The very last scene of Series 6 was probably the best and most exciting scene we have ever heard in Doctor Who history... so far! Dorium finally revealing what the question is - "Doctor Who?"...

In Conclusion...

A very good episode but also extremely exciting! The reveal of the question, seeing how the Doctor can now just slip back into the shadows and also, The Silence finally being defeated... Well they'll probably have more to do to The Doctor before that fateful day on the Fields of Trenzalore...

Tomorrow: Worst Episode of Series 6
